jersey stay away – fantastic staff, really make you feel welcome, food very very average at best, drink only. and why change the name to revel from no name.. very very foolish
Truly Terrific – I knew nothing of the Meatpacker's District, but if Revel represents, then I will recommend it to everyone. I really don't know of many neighborhoods like this one, nor of many restaurants/bars like Revel. Real charm, I guess. An enclosed winter garden, and coming from a place where we've got winter 6 months a year, I can really appreciate. My pasta (I had something like fetucini) was really good and so were the drinks. We were 5 with no reservation and they were able to accommodate us rather quickly. Everyo... read more
Great place for a daytime event!!! – Hosted a baby shower there this past weekend for 25 people. The garden was pretty and very spacious for NYC standards. The food was good (not amazing but good), the price was great and what made the day run smoothly was the EXCELLENT staff. Thank you so much Revel!!
This place is fantastic! – I went for dinner at Revel on Wednesday night with my sister who is visiting for the holiday, and I have to say that what I just read on the previous review completely mystifies me. Someone wrote that the food was terrible, but I simply can't believe that they ate at the same restaurant. I worked in the restaurant business for many years, and I know that it's possible that some nights can be better than others in every respect. But when you have food like we did, which was unbelievable across the b... read more
Had a ball – We were at Revel last week for dinner on Saturday night. Our friends were visiting from Ontario and wanted a night out in the MPD. My wife and I normally avoid the neighborhood but made an exception. We are both so glad we did. The staff from the door to the bar to the restaurant were friendly and knowledgeable. The Pear Martini at the bar delicious and kept us happy while we waited for a table. No complaints at all about the food, each dish was tasty, well seasoned and served quickly. There was an apple pie spe... read more
You'll live to regret it... – I'm not going to make this colorful and pretty. Just straight to the point. -excruciatingly slow service I could have grown/killed/cooked/served my own meal 5 times - the food is just not that good.. sorry.. - the waiter spilled a glass of wine all over me (fell off her tray, thanks, I worked in the service industry and never ones spilled anything on anyone) -the hostess was snobby - and i think i saw a couple of new york finest animals right outside the door of the restaurant..(you know which o... read more
Perfect Italian.. – This was a classic high cuisine dining experience! the fillet mignon was so tasteful and truly special. excellent service but it should be considering the price. All out fabulous experience.
Great! – Dropped in for a quick bite! Food great, service friendly and knowledgeable. Garden has retractable roof so even the rain couldn't stop us! Try it!
renewed faith – Begrudgingly, I agreed to return to Revel for a friend's birthday party after a less-than-stellar experience last summer. Back then, the restaurant (once known only as No-Name Bar) was very obviously an after-thought relative to the bar, which packed 'em in. While the bar flourished, the restaurant floundered. The servers maintained little presence in the dining room, perhaps because there was only two of them for the entire space and it appeared they were responsible for everything (bartending, bussing, etc.... read more
