Shamara has the Midas touch when it comes to hair braiding. I have never fallen asleep having my hair braided and I consider myself tender headed. I usually get the goddess braids and have been going to Shamara since December 2025. After doing weeks of research I loved what I saw of her work and trusted the good reviews and I do not regret booking with her. Retro braids NYC is the best braider I’ve ever been to. From the moment you step in she is kind, friendly and warm. She braids your hair very neatly , and has a tender touch. The quality of the hair she uses is superior. It lasts well over 2 months, does not shed and has never been matted. I always receive compliments, and I am always very pleased after my appointments. She takes your preferences into consideration and listens to you. She is always innovating and perfecting her craft. She is worth every penny!
