Or, he is motivated by self-interest, since he asked me "how it felt to be a millionaire" and told his son that they should buy this property -- and then appraised it at $385k. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! If I could give them no stars I would. They recently came out to appraise our home and when we received the appraisal I found many mistakes. Both myself and the loan company sent over the dispute regarding the mistakes found. I have yet to receive a response and it has been over a week. the loan company was sent a "new" appraisal and no corrections were made. Terribly lazy. I don't know how well the home we were going to purchase was honestly evaluated and appraised in a highly competitive market, but Robert D. Hunt of Resort Appraisal Services appraised the home at $30k under contract price. Quite significant considering that to be about 10% of the price of the home. Ok, so a low appraisal, well you would think the guy would get the appraisal back to us asap, but no he waits a full week. NEVER use this company unless you are hoping for or wanting a VERY undervalued appraisal. We had 2 other appraisals done within 6 months of having Matt Dunn from Resort Appraisals do the appraisal. One of the other appraisals came in at 950,000 the other came in at 1,100,000. The later was done after landscape and a Solar system added. Matt's came in at 820,000 this is a significant difference to the other 2 appraisals done.
