Room was nice, but we were hit with extra fees upon arrival we were not aware of. There's a $150 non refundable pet fee, and nowhere to comfortably walk the dog or let them roam despite being pet friendly. On top of that, the informational email said parking would be $22/night, and upon arrival turned into $25 a night. Had we been aware of these extra fees we would have looked elsewhere. Also the lobby smelled weird, like sunscreen and old sweat.

Update: Hotel under different management than when we stayed. I can no longer recommend this place. New management not same caliber. Am taking back 5 star review.* spent 3 years here. With my adult son who was in a semiconscious coma. We arrived in 2018 and left in 2021. 3 years to the day. I cannot say how much I appreciated these people during my difficult times. We had an amazing stay. Jami welcomed us with open arms and made sure our stay was extra special. Breakfast was delicious. The room was fully stocked. The amenities were decent. Great location.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Orlando. The customer service at the front desk was poor, who came across as unfriendly and unhelpful. The bathroom was missing basic toiletries like soap, which should never happen at a Marriott property. Housekeeping was also below expectations. The room was not serviced properly, and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail were lacking. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
