I had a stroke last year and Dr. Cataldo jumped at the chance to throw a loop recorder in me for the small price of $31,000. No achieving informed consent or checking that it was covered by my insurance. He did not discuss viable options such as non-invasive or less expensive holter monitors and did not disclose that peer reviewed studied have called into question why cardiologists install so many loop recorders when they are proven to not be cost effective. My appointment with Dr. Cataldo and his staff was one of the worst medical experiences I have ever had. Their treatment of me and my situation was without compassion, respect or basic human kindness. The whole experience was traumatizing. These are people who are supposed to be caring for your heart! I would advise looking elsewhere for competent and caring cardiology Services.
