History Established in 1919. In 1890, the Reno Commercial Club and the Reno Business League were formed to enhance Reno as a commercial center. And in 1919, they merged and incorporated to form The Reno Chamber of Commerce. During the 1970's the Chamber expanded to include the City of Sparks. Now, the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in northern Nevada with over 1,500 members who employ over 75,000 individuals in Washoe County. I've been a member for quite a while and have seen that some of the employees I've worked with and come to know have recently been let go. But I was completely floored by how rude the person was at the front desk when I went in to use the restroom while attending a meeting there the other day. She snapped at me and barked a one word command like I was some kind of dog who wasn't allowed in the building. If that is the kind of person they let represent Chamber then I want no part of it.
