I was floored by how rude the office staff was. The nurse practitioner seemed untrained in GI issues. The staff at the surgery center were amazing. Then came the Dr to tell me every thing is fine. You need another test to find out why your GERD is not responding. Called the office today to follow up. They didn’t know what I was taking about. My colonoscopy, arrival time was backed up twice to accommodate the conveyor belt style of Dr. Smith. I waited over an hour in the preop room, watched other patients of his taken to the OR before me, when I had arrived well before them. I never met the doctor, even though I asked to speak to him. He ignored me and began another procedure, and I became third in line - 2 hours after my scheduled time! This is abhorrent behavior! Never met him, although colonoscopy scheduled! My procedure time was changed twice, I arrived, waited over 2 hours, and finally left without the procedure. He refused to meet with me, runs a conveyer belt style, with other patients seen without any adherence to appointment or arrival time, surgical center staff was confused and unhelpful.
I met Dr Smith a few years ago. Very pleasant and knowledgeable, explaining the procedure very well the first time I met him. I only have had 2 colonostopy procedures with him, so I can't tell you much more than that, except... I've not seen him since that 1st-procedure, not even after my last colonostopy, because 1 of his surgical nurses (pleasant lady) notified us of the results afterwards. He was very nice and professional!
Unacceptable that a place will not accept calls or fax from insurance for home delivery for medicine...and rushes you out and looks off into space when you are staring your problems.
My experience with Dr. Smith was fine. He answered all my questions and explained the procedure. However the office staff left a lot to be desired! the woman at the front desk is RUDE! It has now been a month since my procedure and I still can't get my results. I have called the office four times and still can't get a response. Even though I liked Dr Smith I would not recommend him to my friends because my experience with the office staff and the follow up process has been a nightmare!
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Smith and his office Staff... his NP Gina is also very knowledgeable in her field... Dr. Smith has been my GI for over 15 years... I have been a nurse for 21 years and due to the trust that I have in Dr. Smith I recommend him and his Partners to ALL.... The staff is so friendly and works with me on my appointments due to my schedule.... I recommend them to all patients that are having any GI problems..
Dr Smith is excellent in all respects. Office procedures, however, are inefficient (background information had to be submitted 3 times to 3 different people) and test results are not forthcoming even after 15 days. Patient portal does not work.
