We lived here last year through this august and had an awful experience. Our heat and hot water went out at least 10 times on a constant basis throughout the winter. We had to take freezing showers and come out to a freezing apartment in the middle of winter. It would go in and out constantly and once was out for a full week where we made multiple attempts to get maintenance to fix it, they would show up and it would still be broken when they left and then no one would do anything. The first review I read about Renew Ann Arbor said not to live here. I thought that it couldn’t possibly be that bad… I was wrong. Please, please, please don’t choose to live here. It looks nice from the outside. If only they spent as much money on repairing the insides of their units as they did on landscaping. Repeated lies from a dysfunctional - to put it nicely - management team (team as in 1 person, maybe 2, lots of turnover so who knows really). We lived at Renew for two years and just moved out because we bought a house. We are very thankful for Renew overall. The customer service with Zac leading the way was fantastic. The location is unreal. I work at the University of Michigan so you just couldn't beat how close we were. We had everything we needed within 10 minutes and somethings were within a minute! Everything all the other tenants on here have been saying is true as well as not reaching out to me to let me know when they were coming into my apartment as well as not letting us know we wouldn’t be able to get into our apartments while putting new flooring down in the halls. Been waiting in my car for 30 min and still can’t get to my apartment. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! Update: We have now moved out about 2 months ago and have not received our security deposit and are now moving forward with legal action against Renew.
It has been two months after I moved out the ReNew Apartment, but I still didn’t get my deposit back. In addition, my friend and I came to the office several times, but the leasing officers still said they didn’t received the check and didn’t give the actual answer back to me. Also I tried to email the leasing office several time, but they didn’t reply my email. This is not the way that working like that!! It seems like they don’t want get my check back!
