This was a beautiful building and many of the common areas, like the fitness facility and common spaces, are lovely, but it didn't feel up to Marriott Renaissance standards. For starters, the entire place is oppressively dark. The windows, at least in our room, did not open and were frosted, so what (very) little natural light came through was muted. We decided to stay at this hotel on a whim after traveling much of the day. They were able to accommodate an early check in as well. We requested a room with a Capitol view and we got such a wonderful room with the view. The in house restaurant was also great. We were there on Christmas day and the staff that worked were top notch. There is an awesome mall right down the block too that has plenty of shops and a movie theater.
