I went to the Renaissance Hotel this week and had a great experience with one of the bartenders—until today. The bartender took a while to greet me. He eventually brought me water, and when I ordered a Tequila 1800 Black from the back corner shelf, he said, “Can I see your ID?” That wasn’t a problem—I had no issue with showing my ID. What bothered me was that a Caucasian man sat right next to me and ordered a bourbon. The bartender made his drink without asking for his ID. At that point, I asked him to just check me out.
