I am a longtime Marriott customer, currently Platinum Elite, and am very dedicated to the brand and had Ambassador status just a few years ago. As such, I have stayed in a long list of Marriott brand properties, all were great, however, the Renaissance Esmeralda stands out above the high standards of the others. I stayed here in May/June 2026. The temperatures were high but not excessively so. Wonderful place, extremely friendly staff (especially the housekeeping staff, who always went the extra mile for guests, offering us a bottle of water every time I left the room). A very beautiful desert retreat. My room was excellent! Clean, comfortable, peaceful with a perfect view of the pool, and mountains as a background. I have truly enjoyed my stay. I recommend getting midnight snacks and drinks before checking in, due to no access to snacks and food after 10pm. If you like to eat snacks late, and watch TV. Otherwise I loved this hotel. Loved the outdoor look.
Wife and I were looking forward to staying here and for the most part enjoyed it right up until an attendant hit my wifes car with a luggage cart and dented it pretty good. The attendant felt bad about it and we were cool about it because we didn’t want to let it ruin the trip. This was on 6/20, Marriotts claims department “has been waiting on footage” from the hotel to “determine if they were at fault” for almost 4 weeks now.
