I had a mixed experience at REI yesterday afternoon. The cashier was extremely helpful with my return/exchange. I was looking for a pair of climbing shoes that showed as in stock online, but after searching the climbing section for 10–15 minutes, I couldn’t find them and there was no staff around to help. I had a funny little REI pickup mishap recently. They accidentally left a bear canister out of my order, and because I’d just come off a long road trip, I didn’t notice until I was already 30–45 minutes toward my backpacking trailhead. I had to turn around since there’s no way to go without a canister. When I got back to the store, I assumed I must’ve forgotten to add it to my order, so I just bought one.
