Friendly staff
I will not shop at REI, Santa Rosa any longer! I am appalled after been followed and hustled out of the store because I had my dog with me. I have NEVER had such an experience at not only REI or any of the sports-type stores, never. I am a long-time member and this experience not only embarrassed me, it was unnecessary (my dog barked a little yip a few times because he was excited, but was he aggressive in any way, NO).. so hey, no problem, I'll just consistently take my business to Sports Basement, where we ARE welcome!!
REI Santa Rosa has a cordial staff, the original REI vibe and a perfect all around selection to satisfy any adventurer!
Was looking at camping stuff in the corner of the store, 30 ish year old worker comes out in plain clothes spying on me through the shelves. Clearly trying to pass as a customer attempting to catch me stealing? (He put his vest on later and was the one that rang me up). As a long time REI member I felt disrespected and embarrassed. I get it if this store has an issue with unhoused individuals stealing tents and camping equipment, but I’m not sure why they would target me as an individual who would do that.
