They use unethical billing practices. They will keep threatening higher and higher rates to try to lock you in at a slightly lower long-term rate. Oral promises will be made and then ignored followed up by an email threatening a much higher over market rate unless you accept the long-term current rate. In other words, if you ask, or even breach the subject of a lower long-term rate, they will try to trap you long-term in your current rate.
