FNB is impossible to get ahold of. Their online services are always down, and generally upper management is rude. A few months ago I noticed hundreds of dollars in charges from fraudulent international charges. I was informed by the bank I needed to come to freeze my account. I did so immediately and 2hrs later another $150 was taken from my account in a foreign country. They bought out my bank and what a nightmare. I was given 3 weeks notice that I had to replace my line of credit with a new fixed loan or they would report me as having defaulted on my loan. I never made a late payment in 10 years. I had no choice but to go with their loan at 6% when everyone else was at 4%. I promptly refinanced and they held up my closing by not recording the documents showing my line of credit being paid off. These people are worse than worse. Unfortunately my mortgage was sold to this bank. I highly recommend anyone considering this bank to look for alternate options. Customer service is non-existent. They have very few branches (in Columbia, SC they have none) and wait time on the phone is 20+ minutes. They keep charging me a late fee on my mortgage on payments sent up to 20 days before the due date. If you call to complain, they change stories. I'm leaving this bank ASAP. I was a longtime customer of Omega Bank prior to FNB's acquisition. I just overdrew my bank account, which was my mistake completely. I had three charges posting, but had only accounted for two of those. The last charge should have posted, I get a $37 overdraft fee, over and done with. However, instead of the debits coming out in chronological order according to the day and times they were made, the debits were all reordered from largest dollar amount to smallest dollar amount in order to incur ad... read more

Every since FNB brought out Metro bank it has been a totally headache. Constant fees, they hold your withdraws for 3 days before processing which mean your balance look as though you have a lot of money were in fact you don't which causes you to be charge over withdraw fees. They will charge you over withdraw fees plus electronic fee, so you'll get be charged twice in one transaction.
