This review is based strictly on the initial interview and not their work. The appt set up process was great - came by text, sent me a Google Drive folder to load pictures, texted a reminder 24 hours in advance and one hour in advance. Matt called me 30 minutes after the set appt time - apparently he needs to send the same reminders to himself as he does to customers. We had a wonderful experience working with Refuge Design and Landscape on our backyard. We had recently moved into our first home and the backyard was covered in playground turf and overgrown with weeds. We were overwhelmed and in dire need of help. Matt helped develop a vision to make the yard not just usable, but a place we really love being. They are very knowledgable and dedicated to their craft of designing and installing beautiful outdoor spaces. They were easy to work with and finished their work in a very professional fashion.
Matt was incredibly responsive and articulate in his design for our backyard patio. He respected my time and worked with me to find a price-point within my budget. From inquiry to installation, the process was efficient and hassle-free. The crew on ground were utmost professional, being mindful and friendly to our (nosy) dogs and had the whole patio done in roughly 3 days. Beautiful craftsmanship. Will continue to work with Refuge Design on my future backyard upgrades.
After completing two separate additions to our home, our backyard was left feeling disjointed. We had a concrete pad for outdoor cooking, but it was too small for dining, and the transitions between the porch, the pad, and the lower lawn were awkward.
