We did an overnight in January. Highly recommend this! You get plenty of time in the water and the reef at 6 am was so packed with active wildlife. Tea made sure our less confident swimmers could enjoy snorkeling and even sent a friendly crew member, Jack to guide us. Dylan provided a knowledgeable intro to diving for one of our group that was the trip highlight for them. I joined the 3 days / 2 nights liveaboard package and completed my Open Water Diver course during the trip. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I successfully finished the course by the end. I would especially like to recommend David, the dive instructor. He is very patient, explains both the theory and skills clearly, and has his own effective way of teaching. A mixed experience with reef encounter. They have a policy not to refund where they cancel a trip due to weather after the trip has started. In my instance they bought people out to the reef then told them they would be going back that evening meaning some people lost days worth of diving and booking with no refund. This means they have collected thousands of dollars from people for no service provided.
