Business response:

Hi Mario, We are thrilled that you enjoyed your server during your recent visit to Reef. It is true that chef Bryan Caswell was nominated for two Beard awards, but we were not actually awarded Best Chef Southwest in either 2010 or 2012, but we were still thrilled to be in the running! We hope that we can provide you with a better experience when you return. Let your server know and Chef will be happy to stop by your table to help create a memorable experience.

Food was ridiculously fresh. Drinks were superb. Moscow mule was one of the best I've had.

I ordered a margarita & the waiter suggested I get it with don julio tequila so I said sure...when we got the check later I then saw that the drink was $30 & when i asked the waiter about it he said it was "because don Julio is a premium liquor." $30 for one friggin drink, I never would have ordered it if I had know it was that expensive. Dude should have at least given me a warning. Also they won't do separate checks when you're out with your friends which is ridiculous.

This is the place for fresh seafood prepared creatively. But it is not fine dining. Not a place for wedding anniversaries. We waited 10-15 minutes before we were acknowledged. The dessert guy plopped (yes, plopped) down our dessert. Our waiter didn't even tell us about the dessert. Not that it matters, but the menus and coasters are paper. Really, the casual atmosphere gives way to casual treatment of customers.

Business response:

Hi Chris, first off thank you for choosing our restaurant to celebrate your anniversary! You are correct, we are not a fine dinning establishment, we regret that you were under the assumption that we were. Our menus are paper as they change daily depending on what fish and plates we are currently serving. The coaster being paper is because we recycle past menus in an attempt to be more green. We apologize for the wait prior to your server acknowledging you and we agree plopping down the dessert is unacceptable. Please send a... read more

My husband and I eat out alot! So much so that we had to stop checking into places on facebook, People were beginning to think we were becoming professional food critics. In my opinion, REEF was an amazing dining experience! Our waiter, Mauro was awesome and our food made perfectly. We had the snapper carpaccio, Kinilaw-blue crab ceviche, seared scallops & grilled yellowfin tuna along with the speckled bean & mushrooms, Delicioso!!!

Business response:

Hi Mary, Thank you so much for your review! We are thrilled that you had such a lovely experience and we hope to see you both in the restaurant again soon.

We were at Reef last evening 7/12/16 for dinner before going to see Wicked. Service was excellent, friendly, & attentive. Food! Oh my, everything was delicious. From the Calamari, Gumbo, Salmon, Tile with Corn Pudding, to Seared Scallops. We all enjoyed our meals. Then the owner(I think) surprised me with a birthday treat for us to share. We will be back!

Business response:

We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with us. We look forward to taking care of you next time.
