This place is terrible. The staff are uncaring, doing things like changing the door codes without posting notices so that me and many others came home on a Friday night only to find ourselves locked out. When I complained, they acted like being locked out in the middle of the night was not a big deal. The floors are covered in trash stains and the hallways smell bad. Packages go missing all the time. Even when it requires a signature and someone in the office signs, packages will still disappear.

I currently live at Montejo Apts. I have caught the maintenance man Adrian trapping cats with a in humane trap. The poor cat was in the trap in the sun for hours. No water or food. I released the cat and destroyed the trap. It is illegal to trap cats in GARDEN GROVE, CA unless you have a permit from animal control. When I confronted Adrian he got very angry and abusive towards me because I destroyed his trap. He threaten to beat me up if I do it again. We've been living at 709 Paseo Camarillo, Essex Camarillo for nearly 5 years and it's been a really GREAT place to call home! Walking distance to Trader Joes, my bank, my hair/nail salon and just over the freeway from ALL the stores! Can't say enough great things about Aaron and the rest of the maintenance crew! I put in a work order on-line and w/in 2 hours they're at the door and every issues is taken care of - friendly and professionally. Great place to live in a beautiful, well-kept environment!
Do not even think about moving here. My boyfriend lives here and it’s just so bad. The apartments are fine. The view is great but you cannot get hold of the staff. Nobody picks up the phone and they’re never available to address your issues. He hasn’t even been able to give us 30 day notice to move out. It’s just so frustrating.
We lived here for a year, never had problems. Maintenance was very prompt in fixing our requests, neighbors were respectful, and never had any parking problems. We just moved out in the beginning of this month and they are charging us over $900 for cleaning fees for things that were documented "dirty" when we moved in. I've tried contacting the office for a week and nobody will explain the pricing to me over the phone. Oh boy, where do I even start with this disaster of an apartment complex? It's like living in a horror movie, but instead of Freddie Krueger, you're dealing with rusty brown water and thin walls that are basically paper-thin. You can hear every single sound your neighbors make, from their snoring to their 3 AM salsa dancing party. And let's not forget about the dogs that bark non-stop, 24/7. I lived here for the past 3 years. When I moved it the building used to be run properly with decent management and no major issues. BUT NOW....... HONESTLY- Do NOT move here!! Leasing is impossible to get in touch with, if you do, there is no support whatsoever and they are rude. The "Overnight security" is pretty much a joke --- we had a homeless crackhead preventing my bf from getting onto the 5th floor elevator our last week living here.
