Special Occasion Place To the best of my knowledge the Red Tavern is the only truly gourmet restaurant in north eastern California. Even in San Francisco, the food would draw praise. A bit expensive by Chico standards but a real bargain when compared to comparable big city restaurants. A great place for a special romantic dinner.
Horrible service! We had a bitter old waitress with short hair that ruined our much anticipated date. Food was great, but not worth the frustration of waiting for our entree for three hours!!! Do not go here if you want a relaxing experience!
