Nightmare at Red Roof. I booked a non smoking room at the Tampa st. Petersburg Red Roof inn for the week of 2/28/26-3/7/26 as I had to be in the area for medical testing. We arrived in the evening and checked in, I had prepaid the room for $602. When we walked in the room it smelled heavily of cigarettes and bleach, floors were filthy, bed was sagging with spots all over the bedding and long black hair on the dirty pillowcase!. Coming up on the one year anniversary of this hotel canceling my reservation the morning of my trip to reaggea rise up with out probable cause. we called the hotel a day or 2 in advanced and we explained we had fraud issues with our card so we asked what time we will be charged for the room they said on the telephone that u are charged in person when u check in I told them ok I just dont want a situation where u charge my card out of the blue and the money is still in saving. Mike is the best!
The front staff was friendly but overall I would not recommend staying here. The room was dirty with hair everywhere and smelled like smoke masked with a super strong air freshener even though we requested a smoke free room. We asked for more towels because only 2 were provided and we had 4 people in the room but we were denied because "housekeeping had left for the day" The beds were decent No breakfast like they advertise Floors were sticky The entire building smelled like weed smoke The AC barely worked and was covered in... read more
