My wife and I stayed at the Red Roof in while visiting our daughter at the University of Virginia. I have to say the room was clean and the location is excellent but everything else is average. Our room had an "antique" heating and air conditioner that only blew out hot air. We visited in March and could not sleep all night because it was too hot. I have never before reviewed any hotel ever. And I dont stay in nice hotels or have a sense of entitlement. I am telling you this place is terrible. First of all there is not reason why in this day and age I should pay 10 dollars a day for wireless just because a hotel is too cheap to offer it. That sort of corner cutting mentality pevades this place. The bed is from 1975. The shower has like one nonrusted hole in the shower head left spraying the water. Spacious room, well kept and clean, with refrigerator and microwave in the most convenient location, at "the Corner" with restaurants and 2 blocks to the Rotunda; bus and free trolley passing by; coffee, tea and cocoa in the lobby at all times; also wifi connection and a computer desk in room. Reasonable priced. Decor and color scheme not the best. During or right after a major college weekend could be a different scene.
Could not have asked for better service: friendly staff, free shuttle to UVA hospital, large clean comfortable room. Located next to college campus and near very good restaurants.
This Red Roof Inn isnt very nice. The location is good (right by campus). The rooms werent very clean (comforter was dirty). It was also expensive, given the quality. I have stayed at many RRIs and this one wasnt nice.
The hotel search was easy and practical. Anyone who has limited skills in using the internet can easily access the information needed. I have been searching the web for quite some time for hotels and this site is one of the best I have searched yet. You simply need to tell it what you need and you can easily access it. The front desk staff was terrible!!!!!!! Not pleasant or helpful at all....not even the manager!!! Asked for changed rooms 3 times because they couldnt get it right, the tub would not drain so by the end of my shower the bath tub was FULL of water, the bed sheets didnt come all the way to the foot of the bed, the fan in the bathroom did not work and the continental breakfast might just as well not been there. me and my family like tis hotel it was cheep and close to where wed like to go we only hade one problem we have a two year old and ask for first floor and the put use on the third floor that was it, it would have been nice if they had conecting rooms other than that wed probley stay there agian when we need to.
our room key didnt work we had it remade 5 times .no luck we were all wet from swimming and stuck out in the cold management was of little help. didnt offer us to come into lobby to get warm because we were wet. our 6 year old got sick from being wet and cold..
