I've loved this venue for several decades. I lived so close that I could ride my Stingray bicycle there occasionally. I've heard the stories about the Hatchet Lady and I've seen a lot of great concerts there including the Jethro Tull concert that ended in disaster and caused the closure for several years. During the dark years, my friends and I would keep the torches burning. We'd meet on the Sound platform in the bleachers on Friday nights and play music until the police made us stop. I come to the Red Rocks every year- or I try to! This venue is one of the best in the country! I go to see my favorite band (the Avett Brothers) but I have heard many people, locals and travelers that it doesn't matter what band you see, just go to a concert at the Red Rocks!
