good eats I live in Denver, CO but grew up near Joplin. When I visit, one of the first places I want to go eat is the Red Onion. Great food, unbelieveable desserts and good service.
LOVE IT!!!! I absolutely love the Red Onion Cafe. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is superb and the staff is wonderful. I love the smoked chicken dip. It is to die for!
Good food, smoke free environment! Good food, average prices, nice staff. The smoke free environment is a big plus for many! Located in Downtown Joplin. They are open from 11am to 8pm Mon - Thurs, and from 11am - 9pm on Friday and Saturday, closed on Sundays. They offer some unique desserts, such as The Thrilla from Vanilla Cheesecake. PROS: the smoke free environment is a big plus to me! CONS: not open very late compared to a lot of restaurants in Joplin

Delicious!!! We had a bowl of potato soup as an appetizer! I had the daily special recommended by our waitress: Chipotle avacado shrimp salad and a half chicken salad sandwich. The salad is not on the normal menu but you can ask for it AND YOU SHOULD! The bread the sandwich was on was a distinct Earthy buttery flavor! My husband ordered a well down cheese burger with fries. The burger was on a unique bread that made the burger even better. The fries were perfectly cooked. 5 Stars all the way around!!
Love the servers. Kept drinks coming. Appreciate them.
