Tried Red Lantern for the first time - hot sake was served in glass which is too hot to hold. My Sushi was mediocre as best... It was disturbing to see the chef squeezed water out of the crab meat without any gloves . Food was very expensive . Bad service !

We were asked if we have reservation when we came in, I said no. In spite of the place not full and there were several tables clearly empty, we were told to wait. It took probably close to 15 minutes before we were seated. So since we were waiting longer than expected we were able to read the menu ahead we right away were able to tell the waitress our order when she brought us our drinks, again the sushi did not come sooner than we expect probably 20 minutes. Poor service and food is just so so, nothing to come back for.
I'm from Japan and have accepted the fact that most sushi restaurants in the US serve inferior product....not true with Red Lantern! I've been to both locations and both times, left staggering with delighted sensory overload!! Last night we (7 of us) had the sushi master's set dinner. Every dish was better than the next! Amazing. All staff were friendly and helpful; I simply can't think of enough superlatives to describe Red Lantern. I will dream of the unagi with melted uni-butter every night of my life, I'm sure of it!!!
