If you do nothing else in Maine stop into the Red Barn. Wonderful food friendly staff and the owners will make you feel at home. One of the pleasures we do when visiting our son and family from Kansas.

The food was good. The menu was a little more limited than I expected - I guess I should have googled it. They close at 8. We arrived about 7:40 and ordered right away. At about 5 or 10 minutes of 8 they started sweeping the floors and spraying and cleaning tables all around us. Carrying folding chairs and calling out to each other to hurry. They told us to take our time - which was laughable - they even turned the lights out on us - until one of them yelled to leave them on. (They did apologize for that.) We won't be back.

I had the seafood stew it was amazing -it came with a flaky buttery homemade biscuit -My husband had the scallops -he usually does not eat fried foods but he said they were lightly battered and had no greasy or oily taste -he really liked them !

We have been going here for years espically for the seafood chowder. yesterday was the first time I wasn’t that happy... the food was good don’t get me wrong but for what we paid ,this was the first year I didn’t think it was really worth it. We got a quart of the chowder and for almost 30.00 got like 4 pieces of lobster in it . Also the seafood platter was kind of More French fries than seafood. Love Laura and The Red Barn, we were there Thursday, Laura took our order and delivered it to our table she is a very special lady who we all love very much. The food was great, best you can buy, can’t say enough good thing about this family restaurant.��
