I had a wonderful experience with Athena. My normal provider was out sick and she stepped in so I didn't have to reschedule my appointment. She read the notes in my profile for settings and got right to work. She provided me with exceptional care and made the process smooth and comfortable. Having worked with two of their providers now, I highly recommend Real You Electrolysis for anyone seeking gender affirming electrolysis.

Real You is now engaged in union-busting activities, has fired all staff involved in attempted organizing, and has lied to patients regarding the reason for the disappearance of their usual providers. I will change this review when I find out patients' usual, preferred providers have been reïnstated and that Federal labor law is being followed again. If zero stars was possible, it would still be too many. My partner used Real You for electrolysis for about a year and a half, almost every single Saturday. In that time, they increased the price. It happened at the same time they started working with insurance companies. Weird, scammy coincidence I suppose. My partner stopped going though when, because she was sick, had to cancel an appointment. Amanda is great!! I’m currently doing two 1.5 hrs appointments a week of electrolysis. From my very first appointment, Amanda has been super nice, sociable, and go with the flow. They make great conversation, you can read a book, go on your phone, whatever. I was nervous but for me the sessions have been pretty painless. The environment is very inclusive and calming. 10/10 cannot recommend enough!!!

RUN! -they only train their techs for two weeks before they let them start putting needles in you. -they gave me scars and hyperpigmentation. I followed their aftercare instructions. -they have cats and dogs in the office and operating rooms, cute but not sanitary or safe for people with allergies. -it is very common for them to pluck hairs which makes it look like they accomplished more than they did.
