We did a private sale with our friends for their home. We reached out to real estate lawyers to help us with the papers. The law clerks were very responsive at the beginning when info was needed from us and agreement was signed. After that, any questions we had took weeks and sometimes months to be answered. The original home owners wanted to change the closing date, took them 3 months to get back to their lawyer. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience, I feel obligated to share it and wish I could give 0 star. My file was handled by T. Babic (Senior Real Estate Law Clerk) and M. Weisleder (Senior Partner). I sold my Canadian property as a non-resident citizen as I had moved abroad for many years now. And as a non-res, a significant portion of my sale proceeds had to be held in trust pending CRA approval of my T2062 application. This was my second time using Real Estate Lawyers for the closing of a property purchase, and once again, the experience was excellent.
