When house-hunting, I learned from a staff member that one of their receptionists had a horrible death in the family and the manager here really had the nerve to scold the receptionist about how “it’s a big inconvenience for the office” for them to need a few days to drive up to where the body was found, recover their loved one’s belongings from the ME’s office, and attend the funeral service.
