Rude and over priced Ray's in Fortuna is ridiculous. I have lived in Fortuna my whole life, shopped Rays before it was "Rays" (Food Mart). The older people have been there since I was a kid and they haven't changed at all. They are all rude. The prices are better at Safeway. The bakery manager is a rich snob right along with her daughter. Gas isn't cheap for me, but I will spend that extra money to shop in Eureka. I will be saving money that way anyway.
Dirty, rude, and expensive!! Probably the most unprofessional and expensive place I hve ever been in! Between the managers standing around doing nothing, the deli and their constant rude and nasty attitudes, esecially the fat one that makes the cakes! They overharge for everything, and when asked to do anything, ( like put toilet paper in the disgusting bathrooms) the manager tells me I will get a bagger to do it, that's not my job. I literally left my cart in the middle of the aisle and walked out!! I will reccomend everyon... read more
Don't waste your time Horrible selection and even worse customer service! Shopping at Ray's in Fortuna makes driving to Eureka for groceries seem much more enjoyable. Don't bother the deli ladies, unless you want your head chewed off.... and if you're looking for something in particular, you'll probably have better luck finding it on your own. Interruption of a Ray's employee gab fest will only result in mean stares and an hour long escapade through un-stocked aisles of rubbish. Save your cash for someplace that values their... read more

For those actually concerned about covid safety, Rays is just about the safest grocery store in Fortuna. A sign at the door reads "Masks are required before entry". At the check out there is a container of sanitized pens next to unsanitized pens. The store has slightly higher prices then Safeway which means it is a LOT less crowded (also a blessing for remaining safe from covid).
