I recently visited Rasa Rasa Kitchen / R2K, and it offered a vibrant and flavorful take on Indonesian-inspired cuisine in San Francisco’s Mission District. The restaurant has a casual and energetic atmosphere that reflects the neighborhood’s creative food scene. The space feels modern and approachable, making it a comfortable place to enjoy bold Southeast Asian flavors in a relaxed setting. The menu focuses on Indonesian street-food influences while presenting the dishes in a contemporary format. Indonesian cuisine is known ... read more
food overall is decent. most of the meats /dish didn’t taste fresh at all, especially the rendang (and it was super hard to chew) so I wouldnt recommend it at all. the fried chicken (indo style) is actually very delicious, which is what I would consistently get. not a big fan of the qr code style service (you also couldn’t ask for an extra spicy sauce, have to get 3 of them in the menu as a set). nothing is modifiable either - the dining place is also a little dark, interior is more on the practical side than comfort for cus... read more
Get the Padang Platter, and upgrade to coconut rice. Spicy sambal, crispy chicken, savory rendang, flavorful rice, refreshing greens, plus fried egg and dried corn nuts and anchovies. At other places, you pay a lot more for a lot less. This place deserves a line out the door, but then again maybe a place this good should be kept a selfish secret. You won’t regret it!
I was a bit scared initially walking in because it was empty at 7pm but my partner and I ordered the Padang Platter and it was so good! The sambal was really spicy and tied to whole dish together, the chicken and beef were perfectly cooked. The service was also top tier, super friendly and informative! Definitely will be back for this hidden gem!
