I've been to Dr Caliva numerous times for foot issues. I have avoided surgery for decades. Dr Caliva explained clearly why surgery in my situation would not be the best route for me. She recommends shoes that are excellent for walking and hiking. I trust her because she, like most doctors, doesn't immediately suggest surgery or meds. She's concerned with her patient's health and well being...a rarity today. And she's very knowledgeable.
I get ingrown toenails easily for some reason, it hurts just to walk sometimes. On my first visit, Dr. Caliva was able to remove something like an extra nail growing up around the corner of my big toe. It took a lot of digging, but I was given some sort of topical anesthetic, which worked perfectly allowing her to do what she needed to do.
