Our room smelled strongly like mildew and wet, dirty socks. The carpet was damp. We asked to be moved to another room for our second night, and as soon as the a/c came on, we had the same problem. The smoke detector in the 2nd room had a bag over it and the room smelled like pot. The breakfast was dismal. This was a disappointing two-day stay - we didn't expect much for the price but having mildewy a/c units that stink up the room and make it hard to breathe was more like a trial we had to endure. I give it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement
This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I had pre-booked it for two nights and moved out after the first night to the Holiday Inn Express across the street which I highly recommend. They have a lovely breakfast and friendly staff. And new clean rooms. The only thing good about this Ramada at Vandalia hotel is the desk clerk is nice and the swimming pool was the only one of the three hotels that was open when we were there. The rooms are outdated.
