Checked in at 5 after taking an all day class that started at 7 am. Took a shower, had one bug so thought nothing of it. Around 11:30 get up to use the bathroom and multiple cockroaches scattered across the floor. The front desk offered to move me, but staying in another infested room wasn’t my idea of a good night. Drove all the way home from 11:30 pm to 1 am because I refused to stay. They said I had been in the room too long to get a refund. We stayed at the Ramada hotel in the parsippany with our family. At check-out, the front desk staff — apparently of Indian origin — refused to return the cash deposit we had paid at check-in, giving unfounded and unacceptable reasons such as “the room smelled of smoke.” These claims were baseless and the manner in which we were addressed was unprofessional and rude. Our family’s stay at the Ramada in the US was extremely disappointing. The front desk clerk, seemingly of Indian descent, refused to return the cash deposit we had given at check-in, claiming without reason that the room smelled of smoke. This was false and his tone was disrespectful. We will never return and advise others to avoid this hotel.
