Felt very rushed
This was an incredibly disappointing initial visit with Dr. Patel. I waited months for this first appointment so I could discuss some of the difficulties I've been having, and was so eager to talk to someone in the field who could help me navigate what I was experiencing. First, she started my virtual appointment 15 minutes late. Misdiagnosed lichen sclerosus. She only tested for herpes and when that was negative-as I told her it would be- she had no idea what to do next. I had to call and ask what next steps would be. She said 'maybe you scratched yourself'. I went to derm who did a biopsy and made the diagnosis. Dr patel is not a vulvar specialist-despite the title
If you have Dr. Patel as your physician, you are blessed. I went to her one time after being failed by my regular care team. She gave me the appropriate type of referral, which led to proper diagnosis and me being able to finally start seeking treatment. She followed up with me TWO TIMES afterwards even though I only saw her one time for about 15 minutes.
