The way this doctor spoke about my disability in the media was deeply upsetting. I am sitting here in tears upon reading it. Speaking about my disability as 'the big "scary" complication people tend to talk about on social media' is grossly inappropriate. As a medical professional, do you refer to individuals, such as wheelchair users or those with Autism or Down Syndrome, as having big "scary" disabilities? Dr Tonk had great experience and he is a wonderful doctor. Dr Tonk listened to all my questions and cleared all my doubts, he answered very friendly and I felt that I was with a friend. Dr. Tonk is a highly skilled and extremely proficient eye surgeon. Full stop. My experience with Dr. Tonk and his group was thorough and competent, from exams to explanations to follow up and aftercare. Add to that a doctor who is so very kind and fully engaged with the patient, top scores! Also, the colors of the world are so precious now that I had cataract surgery in both eyes last fall.
