Relatively cheap, pretty good selection As far as thrift stores go, you pretty much know what you're in for. You'll spend a couple hours rooting through absolute garbage hoping to find one article of clothing that makes your jaw drop when you realize how little you're going to pay for it. It doesn't always happen; sometimes you just go home with nothing and are all annoyed. But the number of times I've stumbled on a fantastic find has been higher at Ragstock than at any other thrift store in Chicago. So yay for Ragstock... I... read more

recycled clothes this store has recycled clothes as well as discounted new clothes. some of it is really cheap but most of it is still a litlle too pricy for my taste. they do have cool and unique stuff but it's really messy so you have to spend a long time looking before finding good stuff.

Diamond in the Rough- ill clothing This place is hard to find (its in a back alley on Belmont between Clark and Halsted). However, when you do get up there they have the coolest clothes at a decent price. The last time I was there I bought an awesome Wilson track jacket for only $10. They have hats, coats, army stuff, weird stuff, girly stuff, random stuff.... you name it. Can't beat it. PROS: the illest clothing around CONS:

Used Clothes and Retro Doo-dads Ragstock has a wide selection of used, vintage clothing and novelty items from your childhood and possibly even from your grandparents' childhood. The upper floor houses most of the used clothing, while the ground floor contains joke items, toys, rubber and blow-up dolls of all sorts. A few of the items may be considered a bit risque. As a used and new goods retailer, Ragstock can sometimes offer some gems and collectibles. But some of the items can be, well, quite ragged. Be forewarned. The e... read more

This store ROCKS!! I moved to Cali years ago, but this will always be one of my favorite stores! Awesome deals and unique finds. I visit the Windy City once a year and this store (812 Belmont) is always on my list of MUST places to visit. PROS: The workers always have that wonderful shitty Chicago attitude CONS:

If i could I'd give zero stars. First of all, this checking your bag policy is ridiculous. If the employees actually did their job it wouldn't be necessary. Most of the time the employees just stand angry behind the counter talking with each other. Apparently I'm asking for too much by asking them to do their job and check me out. The assortment of their merchandise has decreased as well. I had enough of the ride hipster staff today. I don't pay money to get treated rudely. I won't be back.

This place has terrible customer service. I went to the store on Belmont Ave. I needed to replace my tuxedo pants. When I didn't see anything tuxedo related, I asked the girl behind the counter if tuxedo items were moved. Her attitude was totally nasty. I then asked her if she knew if the store on Milwaukee Ave. had what I needed. Her response, "call them yourself". Just because you sell clothes at a discount price, doesn't mean you can treat customers like crap. I've shopped and dealt with your less than desirable service f... read more
