The shop advised me it was ok to have all the checks from the insurance company go directly to them. After agreeing to that the shop called me 3-4 times a day demanding that I pay them the amount the insurance company owed. The insurance company called the shop multiple times to advise no check was sent to me and all checks were sent directly to them.
