Bought system over 3 years ago. Finally got floor poured and system running. Delighted with its performance! We use a 40 gallon hot water heater to heat the coachouse floor with 600 SF living space including loft Hot water heater shuts down when south facing windows provide enough heat on sunny days. 2x6 insulted walls and Marvin windows. First winter using the radiant floor heating system and VERY dissatisfied. House is cold, system runs ALL the time. Electric bill is sky high! All the promises of efficiency and ease etc are bogus. I followed their plans as described... Terrible. Save yourself time and money and go a different option Update* Put in a pellet stove and heat pump. Much better options they worked where the radiant heat didn't
Really grateful I went with Radiantec, these systems seem simple but it turns out I had lots of questions along the way and being able to pick up the phone and get immediate answers was huge as a DIYer. Also helped sell my wife on buying the system with me doing the labor myself!
I have had the Open Direct heating system from Radiantec for 20 years and it has been one of the best purchases I've made.
Radiantec is an outstanding company! Thanks to the efficiency of the system I purchased from them, I've saved thousands of dollars on utility bills each year. Their customer service is excellent—though honestly, you probably won't need it. The only issue I ever encountered was a frozen condensate line, which turned out to be the result of an installation error by my contractor. Fortunately, Radiantec stepped in and guided him through the fix. Truly impressive support!
