Seeing Jamie has been life-changing. I thought the symptoms of depression and PTSD were going to rule my life forever, but therapy with her has significantly reduced my depressive symptoms and PTSD episodes. She’s the best therapist I’ve seen in my 30+ years of receiving therapy, and her treatment has remarkably improved my life. Don’t let the low rating turn you off. The majority of the staff is as great as Jamie is!
Only went to a few visits, decided to stop going once my insurance ran out. Met with K, I liked her but she seemed to not care much, just talked to make the time go. Most of our therapy time was her asking me how to spell things, weird vibe not as helpful as I had hoped.. They do have a really great office cat there though, super sweet and friendly.
This was my first experience with talk therapy and unfortunately it was, generally speaking, a bad one. I want to warn others in my position. I only landed on this one because of the short wait time. Looking back, I should have held out for a better option or tried something like Better Help. When I left, the manager (and the therapist) couldn’t seem to care less. Didn’t ask why. I worked with Jamie for several years and recommend her practice, particularly for queer individuals.
I did not feel the counsellor I saw here was a good "fit" for me personally and this pushed me to want to explore other locations for counselling. While my experience wasn't ideal for me personally don't let that stop you from trying to see if they will be right for you. Their facility is clean and the owner at least tried to help me find a counselor that would meet my needs but I already had my mind set on trying somewhere else.
