Stick with appitizers. – This restuarant has some great sushi but most of it is just okay. The lobster rolls with kiwi wasabi sauce and some of the other appitzers are delicious but most of the sushi is just very bland and almost tasteless. I would definitly not reccomend this for someone who is looking for Japan quality sushi. Stick with appitizers, and it will probably be good. The service was good when I was there but the music they were playing the whole time was very loud. Good place to eat but not for people who want r... read more
RA sushi Bar dissapointment – I was at RAs this past week the server was more interested in the talking to the people in the table next to us then serving us. She did not place my order of SUSHI until I asked her. My friends who ordered cooked food, were well into eating there dish. I asked the waitress where is my food, she stated "Oh I fogot to place it." Everything given to us was on the fly with her. She ONLY HAD 3 tables. Customer service was out the door at this place. I was still hungry and wanted to order more, but e... read more
great food – I have gone here since it opened and still love the place. I have never had a problem with the food or staff...Top 5 places for sushi in Tucson(not the best but tasty nonetheless).
Was this sushi? – If you like hybrid sushi, you'll love RA. There is just somehing about adding cream cheese to everything that makes raw fish into a starter rather than sushi. The sauces used are so over bearing that the delicacy of the fish is lost and I was wondering if this was to cover up the quality of the fish. You don't mask high quality seafood. RA turns into more of a Bar rather than a sushi bar as the night progresses. If your looking for a club try RA, but if you're looking for sushi, try somewhere else.
Wonderful Sushi – The sushi that RA serves is beautiful as well as pleasing to the palate. Their house specials are creative, as well as tasty. This restaurant is definitely worth a try, especially the Las Vegas rolls. They have a happy hour where most of their sushi and appetizers are half-off. This can be a big help as they are one of the more expensive sushi joints in town.
Wash your hands before you go – Stopped in with a friend who was hungry for sushi. As before any meal I went to wash my hands. This was mid afternoon with maybe 4 tables seated in the whole place. Entering the bathrooms I immediately noticed the frosted floor to ceiling glass that normally would look very classy but was filthy for both the men's and woman's restrooms. The mens room looked as if it hadn't had a good cleaning in weeks. The automatic towel dispenser was not working so had to leave opening the door with a wet pi... read more
Sushi restaurant and lounge features Asian fusion dishes and sleek, club-like decor. – In Short Washed in red by overhead lamps and stained woods, the sleek décor bears a hip Asian feel. Expect an Asian fusion menu and artful sushi, including specialty rolls like the Tootsy Maki, Lone Star and lotus-root-topped Viva Las Vegas. Enjoy a specialty cocktail or happy hour in the lounge.
Sushi on the Patio – I lived in Japan for many years and I know the difference between American sushi and Japanese sushi. If you are a sushi snob, this is not authentic Japanese sushi, keep looking. I tried the nigiri and the hamachi and maguru were only ok, not what I'd expect in a first rate sushi shop. However, if you can enjoy Americanized sushi, the offerings here are very good. My wife and I shared three cooked rolls and all of them were tasty. We also tried the yakitori which was slightly overcooked. They American rol... read more
great atmosphere with bad food – Very boring sushi (lots of cream cheese). Even the wasabi was very mild, I ate it all and I have never ran out of wasabi.Plus I had to chase down my waiter a couple of times.Coincidently I ate a night before at Benihana, which owns Ra, where the sushi and the service were great. A good looking crowd, though and fun atmosphere. Have a drink or two but eat someplace else.
