R&A Cycles is a high end and an excellent bike shop. The Walnut Creek store is a veritable candy shop for bikes that my financial planner would disapprove of. What really sets R&A Cycles apart from other LBSs is their attention to detail. I ordered Zipp wheels online. They were back ordered so I waited a week for R&A to receive them and send them to me. TL;DR - Josh (and the R&A crew in the background) did a stellar job helping me select and buy my new steed. The shop has great inventory and awesome rides to just look at. I hemmed and hawed for about a month and put together a 25+email chain with Josh which ultimately led to me getting a great deal on a bike I'm thrilled with. First off, I'd roll into this shop on any given Saturday when I'm around just to look at the bikes. I always have a great experience in this store. The team is friendly and professional, and the store is clean and simply a joy to wander around in. I can't wait for my next excuse to stop by! See you at the group ride.
This bike shop is the best. I am a relatively new rider but they don't treat me like one. I feel like Tadej Pogaçar when I walk in. I don't feel like a customer, I feel like a member of their community. I hate doing my own maintenance (where is my team car when i need it?) and they take care of me whether is is a larger maintenance issue or I just need my tubeless tires re-inflated. Beautiful showroom or high end bikes. Staff knowledgeable and accomodating. However, I asked a bike repair question via their website - since it wasn't urgent I figured I could wait - after 4 days, no reply. From a customer service standpoint that is disappointing. I ended up ordering my own parts, (for a Campy bike) and will take them with my bike to another shop.
