My wife Kit & I are brand spanking new kayakers, and brought our Tandem kayak ( aka "The divorce maker") to QWC for a private lesson. Kat was fantastic- she got us paddling/sweeping/drawing/stopping/reversing, and getting in and out , in 3 hours. The paddle up the Grand river was glorious. Highly recommended for instruction, or just kayaking.

I've always wanted to kayak and signed up for the Beginners Plus class. The class was fantastic, the class size is small so that Kat can give everyone personal attention. Besides kayaking on the main lake she took us through a short river to a small lake that allowed us to go over strokes, safety and techniques in a less busy environment. If you are considering taking a class I would say jump in and do it you won't regret it and this is coming from a novice that tipped and had to get back into my kayak.
Best place in our area. Always very helpful and friendly staff! Whether your experienced or trying it out for the first time this is the place to go. :)

I live in Chicago and my family lives in Jackson. If it's warm enough, I always make a point of borrowing anything that floats from QWS for a relaxing getaway from my getaway. I finally had an opportunity to take a class with Kathy at QWS, a beginners kayaking class. While I have done my share of paddling, taking a beginner's class was full of new experiences for me! Quiet World Sports is one of my favorite things about the Jackson area. The staff is friendly and four hours spent on the water is something I'll never regret.
