Lovely hotel great location spacious rooms friendly staff ..I only took 1 Star off for the $60 parking fee it's valet only but $60 a day is outrageous when I only paid $100 to rent my car for the week..if I stay here again I won't rent a car.

This was my first time in Hawaii and I believe the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is a great place to stay. It's in such a prime location and makes getting to the beach and shops much easier. When I got to the hotel I was early and worried I would have to wait to check in. Not only was I able to check in they upgraded my room to an ocean view free of charge (God is good 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾). I love this hotel so much, I would stay here again and again. The location, the service, the wonderful staff, beach chairs and towels for free, the nice gym, the restaurant, the most delicious coffee shop, amazing surf school downstairs (shoutout to Pete and Meg!). DISCLAIMER! The rooms are older and not luxury by any means, they’re comparable to a nice motel room, so if you’re looking for a luxury room to lounge in all day, this may not be it. We had a studio Ocean View room and regret getting a balcony. It was small for a studio, but the bathroom was adequate and the shower was fantastic! The bed was hard and my neck and back hurts. However, there is a mini fridge, water kettle, and free reusable water bottles. No microwave and there's no coffee, tea, water, etc. However, the staff was absolutely amazing! It's an easy walk to the beach or the main road that runs along the beach with restaurants, shops, etc.
