Dr Puumala performed brain surgery on me, and I was completely satisfied with his work. Also, he has an amazing bedside manner, and he answered all of my questions to my satisfaction, and the follow ups were courteous and actually friendly, he had a great, understated sense of humor. I have been lucky to have a nuerosurgon like Dr. Puumala.
I can't say enough great things about Dr Puumala & staff. From the time I was checked in to the time I woke up in recovery. I also want to thank the nurses at McKennan that took care of me . I thought I was in a 5 star hotel.
Dr Puumala explained the problem and the surgery very well. Surgery and rehabilitation was successful! No more back pain. I can water ski and play with grandsons!
Started out great. Knew there were risks. But he sent my husband home early and yelled at me in the middle of the night when my local ER doctor sent him back to the hospital by ambulance. He started 3 more days in the hospital. My husband had the screws break in his back after a stumble that he didn't even fall from. Now my husband is 47 and permanently disabled. I had never been treated the way he treated me after the initial surgery.
