Wine school at Putnam's is the best school! I feel lucky to have such an incredible resource close to home. Victoria combines deep subject knowledge with an enthusiastic and welcoming teaching style to create an inviting environment to learn all about wine. Putnam’s is my very favorite local wine spot! I have enjoyed many evenings sipping wine at the bar. The whole vibe is so warm and cozy, and the wine shop out front has recently been expanded to offer an excellent selection. The staff is always so helpful with recommendations both in the shop and at the bar; I have truly never been disappointed!
If you think of Putnam’s as a coffee spot, it’s time to try the wine! I moved to White River Junction in 2024 and was looking for ways to meet people, so I started going to their wine classes. I’ve always enjoyed wine and wine bars, but I never ventured outside of what I knew until Putnam’s. Favorite spot in town! Food, drinks, everything is great but the real stand out is their wine selection/knowledge and most especially the Wine Society! We look forward to Wine Society's monthly events - the wine and the pairings are so fun plus it's great to learn a bit about the wines, winemakers, and regions it comes from. And, we even found ourselves a nice little friend group with the folks we met there. It can be tough to find your people in a new place but we love that we found ours over a glass (or two!) at Putnams!
