I’m gone. Took me 2 years to come to the conclusion he and his staff couldn’t care less about your health or needs. Office and nursing not friendly, no eye contact and all business.
After 20 years he is kicking me to the curb because I won’t pay 1800 a year to remain his patient. Why pay? I never got to see him anyway. His staff always screwed up my prescriptions. Just because he now wants to slow down his practice but not give up the money why should I pay for it!!???
Dr.Purpura is a very caring and compassionate dr. He takes the time to answer questions. His staff is very helpful and friendly. He has a NP and PA who see patients in his practice also. I am usually able to get in the same day, even during flu season. The best thing about his office, the wait time is VERY short compared with ANY OTHER dr I have ever seen.
I have been seeing Dr. Purpura since he came to Abilene. I have absolutely no complaints towards him or his staff. He has always been a wonderful listener and will explain anything I have questions about. He is a very friendly and "down-to-earth" kind of doctor. Very comfortable talking about anything with him. He is an excellent doctor!
After being a patient for 12 years he won't even talk to me on the phone. Gives no explanation as to why he is withdrawing my husband's medication and not weaning him off of it. This can cause serious health issues and possibly death if abruptly withdrawn, There are to many indians and not enough cheifs that work for him. They are all rude and condescending.I do not recommend this Dr. for anyone.Hard to get to see and then he makes referrals to specialists that take month's to get get in to see
He and his staff are very business oriented! Not health or customer oriented. It was a total waste of time and money to see this fool! I am over weight by about 40 lbs. I did not mention weight...he focused on it and went to a crazy level! Maybe he read the wrong chart! When I said I would work on my weight..he said well we will see! Very condescending! I was also 3 minutes late..literally..girl at desk said...you might have to wait longer. Told her that was fine..I waited 45 min!! Jerks!
Spent a lot of time with us answering questions and educating us on procedures that had been suggested by a doctor on our health team. Made us feel comfortable and much better informed. Has been an advocate for our families care on many levels. Have and will continue to refer. One of the most caring doctors we have come across in many years.
In my experience, he is not truthful. He also pushes treatments/surgeries that would not make any sense at all. His bedside manner is atrocious and uncaring. He also violated HIPPA rules and denied it saying he was speaking to a patient who was sound asleep.
