Herly shert, you have to take out a loan just to take your kids to this place. I took six children to get a treat here, they poured their ice cream, they got one topping, and it was $80. The employee at the register almost looked proud of the amount. Unfortunately, they have outpriced us, and I'd rather support local, handmade TRUE premium ice cream than this place, and it ends up being cheaper. Even Coldstone is cheaper! This place is fantasticaly over priced. They have poor frozen yogurt imo and charge like it's too shelf gelato. My kid loves it, sadly, and now picks it every time. Recommend avoiding.
Jan 29th, 2026 at 5:30 pm, I purchased an ice cream and paid for it. I did not leave a tip because at Purple Penguin we serve ourselves. An older woman was the cash register employee. Upon noticing I left no tip, this entitled employee said "thanks for that". I and anyone in my family, or my office will ever step foot in that place. And I'll make 100% certain, everyone I speak to knows about this classless customer service. Tomorrow, my next post about this will be on the Southern Pines Next Door app.
My daughter loves their ice cream. We never had a problem here. It is kindove pricey, but I think it's worth it.
