History Established in 2001. Pure Barre was founded by dancer, choreographer and fitness guru Carrie Rezabek Dorr. Carrie opened her first studio in the basement of an office building in Birmingham, MI in 2001. I love this studio. I was very much outside of my comfort zone joining a group workout class environment. I am typically embarrassed to workout in front of others. I don’t feel that here at all. I researched about Barre workouts and knew that this is the type of workout I needed so thought I’d try a free class. I am now on my 9th class and seeing and feeling results. Everyone at this studio is incredibly kind and helpful. I feel so comfortable working out here and the workouts are incredible!
