Had a video visit with Dr. Purdy for my son who has been limping with no pain, and for no apparent reason. Felt brushed off and appointment ended early. Following the appointment I reviewed the visit notes online and Dr. Purdy's had written in the medical record that my son had fallen and was no longer limping. I'm certain there was no miscommunication and just a doctor making things up on the fly to complete his chart notes by 5pm.
We had a e-visit with this doctor for my son. My son has been sick with flu symptoms 104 degree F temperature, terrible cough and difficulty breathing for over a month. It gets better and then it worsens. He had no empathy and was in a rush to end the call after telling us you have what thousands of other people have and unfortunately it can take a long time to recover. From the time my now 8 year old daughter was released from the NICU Dr Purdy has been a godsend. Taking care of both our children. He’s been there to ease our worries as first time parents without making us feel like our concerns are not valid. He knows both of my girls and remembers what’s going on in their lives and makes them feel at ease during their visit. He’s gentle and patient and truly cares about the kids. This was our third visit with Dr. Purdy (routine checkup). He has a great bedside manner, and being an infectous disease specialist was comforting as we went through COVID. He takes the time to answer all your questions (never rushed) and genuinely cares about keeping the kids in good health.
Dr. Purdy was very unhelpful when I took my one month old son to him. He didnt listen to us, also profiled us to be 'naive parents' after asking 'are you first time parents?'. We went with bowel movement issues, and he just categorized everything as colic. The whole visit costed us 2 hours and it was utterly useless.
I’ve had Dr. Purdy for my three kids for over a decade and he’s fantastic! He’s so nice, and really cares about them. He always remembers what we talked about and he’s very thoughtful about our concerns. We’ve had various illnesses and disorders over the years and he’s been great in helping us navigate them. He’s cautious, but doesn’t freak out. He always gives us just what we need.
